St Kilda is an established residential area with substantial commercial areas along St
Kilda Road, Acland Street, Carlisle Street and Fitzroy Street. The small area of St Kilda
includes most of the suburb of St Kilda, part of the suburb of St Kilda West and part of
the suburb of Elwood.
The boundaries of St Kilda Real Estate by Cowderoy Street, Ross Gregory Drive, Queens Road
and Queens Way in the north, Chapel Street, Inkerman Street, St Kilda Road and Brighton Road

Development of the St Kilda area dates from the 1840s. Rapid growth took place during the late
1800s, aided by the construction of the railway line and improved access. Some growth took place
in the interwar period, including the construction of many flats and apartments.

high density development. St Kilda has experienced a small increase in population between 1996 and
2001, a result of new houses being added to the St Kilda area.

Kilda Adventure Playground, St Kilda-Williamstown Ferry, St Kilda Pier and three St Kilda schools.
